Building and labour costs will depend entirely on your
individual specification, including house size and choice
of materials. For example, plain tiles are cheaper than
hand made clay tiles, block is cheaper than stone and
softwood is cheaper than hardwood. Construction costs are
also influenced by how you choose to carry out the
project.
Based on your house plans, building contractors will be
able to work out a budget figure for building materials
and labour costs. This figure will be based on a price
per square foot. Check carefully what items are included
in such figures. Did they, for example, incorporate the
specialist foundations that would be required? Many builders offer an estimate based on the cost of labour
alone it depends on you.
