Solid Designs Incorporated is an architectural and project management firm that holds the satisfactory completion of projects as its principal objective. The idea is not the project. The physical structure is the project. The successful project is one in which the stakeholders are happy with appearance and function of the physical structure, and parting relationship that were created through the project. Solid Design Inc. prides itself in delivering successful projects.

Company Profile
Solid Designs Incorporated was established and registered in Grenada in 1980. The firm was conceptualized as an architectural firm whose principal objective would be building design. The sole owner and only operative of the firm at the time was Lennox P. Archibald.

In 1981 Mr. Archibald moved to Trinidad where he worked till 1985. On his return to Grenada, the objective of the firm was extended to include the management of construction projects in addition to architectural design. This decision was based on Mr. Archibald's observations of the strengths and short-comings of the construction industry made evident during the boom years of Trinidad and Tobago. The system of project management was at this time proving to be an effective method of bringing construction projects to completion on time and within budget.

On his return to Grenada, Mr. Archibald invested further time and effort in the firm Gordon & Archibald Ltd., Architects and Building Contractors, in an effort to fully understand all facets of the construction industry. The firm of Solid Designs Inc. remained dormant during the period of 1981 to 1988 as Mr. Archibald worked in various selected areas of the industry, building his systems of operation and developing his expertise.

SDI was re-awakened in 1988 as an architecture and project management firm. In 1992 Mr. Archibald returned to university to further his studies in project management and to acquire the latest knowledge in systems operations and the management of construction projects. The firm is now well known for its project management capabilities by both client and building contractors.
SDI is now a fully computerized firm using advanced systems of management for the controlling of time and cost of all construction projects. Designs and construction drawings are also prepared on computer. This facility allows the client multiple options before the final design is approved, and provides SDI with increased accuracy in the preparation of drawings and the automatic accumulation of valuable data on each design option.

SDI has remained small in staff by choice. The core personnel consists of four persons only, choosing to select specialists according to the project at hand. The firm has worked well with several other consultants and technicians in the local industry and feels confident that the necessary personnel can be obtained for any type of project that the firm might be interested in pursuing.

All projects undertaken by the firm are managed personally by Lennox P. Archibald. For this reason, the firm has limited the number of projects it is prepared to handle simultaneously. All projects, large or small, are operated through the same basic methodology, varying only in the degree of detail generated.
